ANIMALS
Does your little monkey just love animals? You don’t need to go far to get your critter fix. We have some great options for appreciating exotic wildlife close to home here in the Brazos Valley!
Aggieland Adventure Zoo & Safari Park

Featuring both a drive-thru Safari and a walk-thru Adventure Zoo, you will get to see monkeys, giraffes, hippos and lots of other exotic and beautiful animals. They also have unique animal feeding experiences, camel rides, special events, and a kids’ activity and recreation area.
Franklin Drive Through Safari
4324 W Hwy. 79, Franklin
If you want to get a little further out of town, Franklin also has a great drive-thru safari. Besides the drive-thru portion of the park, there is also the Exotic Aviary, a Baby Animal Room where you can play with exotic baby animals, animal feeding opportunities, and private tours.

DEGALLERY

DEGALLERY offers art classes for kids aged 2 through teens, with age-appropriate lessons and goals. They also offer themed parties, private lessons, exhibits, special events, and competitions. If you think it looks like fun, they also offer tons of options for adults!

This social and educational experience will open doors of learning for your little one. Research has shown that young children who are heavily immersed in music may have higher IQs! Set your child up for success with music lessons for newborns through age 7.
The Theatre Company of BCS

The Theatre Company strives to “provide professional quality productions at an affordable price for all audiences.” A number of their volunteer performers have gone on to professional success. Take your kids to see a performance or audition for an upcoming production.

Children’s Museum of the Brazos Valley

The Children’s Museum’s mission is to help children learn through play. They receive tens of thousands of visitors each year to experience their interactive exhibits like Georgie’s Lily Pad, the Rocket Ship, Illumination Station, the Family Pet Center and more.
OUTDOOR ADVENTURES
Some days, you just gotta play outside. BCS has a ton of great parks, but there are also plenty of other opportunities to soak up that vitamin D with these great outdoor venues!
Brazos Valley Farmers’ Market

This wonderful farmers’ market happens in Historic Downtown Bryan every Saturday, year-round, and features a variety of local vendors. Bring the kids down for breakfast, to look at all the fun items for sale, or to shop for ingredients to make a meal together as a family!
G. Hysmith Skate Park

Do you have an aspiring young Tony Hawk? He or she will be pleased to know that College Station has its own skate park! Nestled within Bachmann Park, your skater can explore its obstacles, coin piece quarter pipe, sushi dish, and 2 bowls.
The Gardens at Texas A&M University

Come explore TAMU’s 27 acres of public teaching gardens. “See everything from delicate flowers to hearty crops and from buzzing fauna to serene flora.” Want to make it a more educational visit? Sign up for a tour, or even use your smartphone and take the self-guided audio tour!
The Green at Century Square

The Green is the courtyard and heart of Century Square – a mixed-use destination with restaurants, bars, shopping, and lodging. Play corn hole and life-sized checkers, make a wish at the fountain, and gather in the open area to listen to live music, attend events, visit with friends and watch the kids do cartwheels and play tag.
Lake Bryan

Lake Bryan is a cooling reservoir for a power plant. Bring the family out for swimming, kayaking, fishing, camping and all kinds of outdoor fun. You can even rent the pavilion for special events!
Lake Walk

Lake Walk is a mixed-use area with restaurants, shops, living, and lodging. It also features a lake with fountains, walking and biking trails, and an observation tower so you can look out over College Station or at the stars. They also have an event pavilion where they host events like live music, plays, pop-up shops and more.
Lick Creek Nature Center

Besides Lick Creek Park’s many trails, they also have a wonderful Nature Center, with an outdoor classroom, amphitheater, native plant displays, and a monarch butterfly garden. Check out their variety of youth programs to take a deeper dive into all they offer!
Santa’s Wonderland

If you’ve driven through south College Station on TX-6 after sundown, you’ve probably seen this one! Open every November and December, this local treasure offers up a variety of holiday themed activities. See the amazing Christmas lights, meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, enjoy real outdoor ice skating and snow tubing, visit the petting zoo, slide down a toboggan chute, listen to live music, and play in Texas Sized snow globes.

Adamson Lagoon

This water park features a 50-meter, Olympic-size swimming pool, water slides, lily pad walk, water basketball and more. Party packages are available.
Bryan Aquatic Center
3101 Oak Ridge Dr., Bryan
This great center boasts a heated Olympic-sized pool, two water slides, beach entry area, and a diving board (the only public one in the area). You can also rent it out for private events.
Cindy Hallaran Pool
1600 Rock Prairie Rd., College Station
Cindy Hallaran (Southwood) Pool is a 25-yard swimming pool. It features a beach entry in the shallow end, a clam-shaped slide, shade, swimming lanes and shallow water areas. There are also party packages available.
Henderson Harbor
1629 Mockingbird Rd., Bryan
This pool features swimming lanes, splash features, shades, and a large swimming pool. With the park’s skate park, grills, sports fields and more all right there, it’s also a great place to spend the day or have a party.
Sadie Thomas Pool

The kids are sure to enjoy this great pool with lots of splash features, zero-depth entry, lounge chairs, shade, picnic tables and more.
